Below are some of the video projects that I’ve worked on over the past few years.

This is a compilation of timelapses that I’ve created over the past 7 years. Places include Observatory in Cape Town and Sutherland, Doringlaagte near Montague, Towerkraaltjie near Ladismith, Bonnievale River Lodge, Oranjerus near Upington, ATKV Hartenbos, Homestead in Addo, Blouberg beach in Cape Town and Merry Pebbles in Sabie. Turn up the sound to get the full experience!

I created the following video for the launch of this website in April 2020.

During family holidays, I’ve taken photos and videos of the places that we visited and created videos shared elsewhere on my website.  Initially it was mostly photos, but more recently I’ve started taking more videos.  In September 2019 we visited Addo Elephant National Park where I recorded mostly videos with my Nikon D5300 DSLR camera.  I used Adobe Lightroom to edit the photos and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit and produce the following video.

I worked at the South African Astronomical Observatory as a IT Systems Administrator.  After installing Autodesk Powermill onto the computer of the head of the mechanical workshop, Mr Craig Sass, I asked him to explain to me what the software does.  I then came up with the idea to combine the CAD simulations of the machining process produced by this software with videos of the actual machining of the mechanical parts on the CNC machines.  In July 2019 I used video content created by the CNC programmers and operators to edit and produce the following video.  This video is used to market the capabilities of the SAAO mechanical workshop and to show to visitors and job shadow students.

In November 2018 my husband and I were asked to give a presentation about the South African Astronomical Observatory and astronomy to our son’s grade at his school. I used some drone video footage of Willie Koorts and combined it with some of my time-lapses of the Sutherland Observatory to produce and edit the following video.  My son selected the music which helped to maintain the attention of the six graders.

My job as an IT Systems Administrator at the South African Astronomical Observatory required trips to the Observatory at Sutherland in the Northern Cape.  I started becoming interested in astrophotography and this was the ideal site with its dark skies and little light pollution.  Over the course of several IT standby trips I created time-lapses.  I combined several time-lapse sequences using tools such as Adobe Lightroom, LR Timelapse and StarStax to produce and edit the short video below.

In June 2018 my husband, son and I built a new bed for our son using railway sleepers.  All the bolts and steel headboard fittings were figured to give it an aged appearance.  I combined photos and videos that I took using my Nikon D3100 to create the following video.
